We can’t thank you enough for all that you brought to Stitch Buffalo through this mural project. Your vision, talent, and love for community shine so clearly in the work. And the way you invited so many people into the process has created connections that go far beyond our walls.

Working with you was an absolute joy. Your thoughtful planning, openness to ideas, and infectious energy made the whole experience both smooth and inspiring. We feel so lucky to have shared this journey with you and are grateful for the beauty (both tangible and intangible) that you’ve given us.

The Stitch Buffalo Team, Stitch Buffalo

We appreciated Saira and Deepali’s ability to enter the space with ease, in a thoughtful and strategic manner. They were flexible, available, and accommodating. They also demonstrated excellent facilitation and engagement techniques on complex topics with the group.

Saira organized a community workshop to develop a mural at the NFFT, which demonstrated her dynamic abilities. She effectively inspired others to elicit their own creativity as they brainstormed themes for the mural that resulted in high quality ideas. She has the rare ability to execute bold visions through her community development expertise. Moreover, she has a constant motivation to make her community a better place using her problem-solving methods and techniques.

Saira was one of 26 mural artists for the Hertel Alley Mural Fest (2023). She was selected out of 100+ applicants for the event due to her unique artistic style and community-centered approach. All artists were asked to create a design unique to them and within their niche placement within the alley – Saira did not disappoint! We highly recommend her for her artistic ingenuity and professionalism when it comes to community based creative place making! We can’t wait to work with her again.

Hi, Ms. Saira! This summer I visited your mural right before the finish. All summer I’d been considering starting a club to repaint and renew murals around my high school. As a junior, I thought it’d be fun, and something to give to the new freshmen before I graduate. Your mural gave me the push I needed to get started and talk to leaders in my school.

I had the opportunity to collaborate with Saira in formalizing rural regional Main Street initiatives for the State of Oregon. Saira’s strategic mindset and ability to navigate complex projects were instrumental in successfully implementing these initiatives. Her experience in fostering collaboration between diverse stakeholders and her deep understanding of the intricacies involved in such projects were truly commendable. Saira is an exceptional communicator and working with her didn’t feel like work at all.

Working with Saira has been the perfect mix of brainstorming, dreaming, ideating, and implementation. It’s not often that you find someone who can live in all of these worlds, but Saira is that unicorn. Not only have we been able to co-create the beginnings of a bigger vision for the Arts & Culture Initiative at the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo, but I have so appreciated Saira’s values that are so deeply rooted in community voice and equity.
